Hematite has been in human hands for thousands of years.

Hematite is an iron oxide, recognised by its weight, its smooth feel and the polished gunmetal finish it takes. People have ground it for pigment, carved it, and worn it as ornament since long before anyone wrote any of it down.

In crystal and wellness traditions it has become particularly associated with grounding, balance, stability and focus. That is the story the stone carries, and it is a large part of why people reach for it.
