Legal
Privacy policy.
What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. Last updated 14 August 2026.
This policy explains how IONISS handles personal data for visitors to ioniss.com and for customers. We are the data controller for that information.
What we collect
- Order information. Your name, delivery address, email address and order contents, so we can send you the thing you bought.
- Payment information. Handled entirely by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card details.
- Correspondence. Anything you email us, kept so we have context if you write again.
- Basket contents. Stored in your own browser so your basket survives a refresh. It never leaves your device until you check out.
Why we are allowed to hold it
We process order information because it is necessary to perform the contract you entered into when you bought something. We process correspondence on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering you properly. Marketing email, if we ever send any, is on the basis of your consent, and you can withdraw that at any time.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for six years, because UK tax law requires it. Correspondence is kept for two years. Anything else is deleted when it stops being useful.
Who we share it with
Only the people who need it to get your order to you: our payment provider, our delivery courier, and the platform that runs this website. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it, where we are not legally required to keep it
- Stop using it for a particular purpose
- Send it to you or another provider in a portable format
Email [email protected] and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and local storage
This site uses local storage to remember your basket. That is functional rather than tracking, and it stays on your device. If we add analytics or advertising cookies in future, we will ask for your consent first and this policy will be updated to say so.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Material changes affecting existing customers will be sent by email.
